Beginging To Finalise My Ideas

Genre Ideas.

Finalising Film Idea.

Idea One.
My first idea is a zombie horror film, that shows the main character and hero of the film to be a female in order to change typical conventions of Horror films to make this film unique and interesting.

Idea Two.
A short film showing the day in a life of a girl with insomnia and her nightly activities. This short film would show the lead character traveling around the city late at night and the people that she interacts with the whole thing will be shot from first person and would be art house in its styling.

Idea Three.
A film showing a robbery gone wrong from the point's of view of everyone one involved, shot in first person, this would show the robbery and action from a wide range of angles and I would be able to use a wide range of techniques to make it more interesting.

Final Idea.
The final idea that are group have decided on is the first one, my group have decided to do this one because the believed it would be easier or more fun to film and make, in addition to this they believe it would be easy to find a setting and that we all know the conventions of a Zombie Horror film because it is a popular genre for are generation thanks to programs such as The Walking Dead and films like Shaun of the Dead.  

Character Description.
The lead character will be a girl called Charlie, she will be 18b years old and be the one that sacrifices herself in order to save her friends. Jacob is the love interest of Charlie and is the quieter one of the group who is unsure of what is going on and needs saving, there will be two other make survivors within the group to complete are living cast.
We hope to gather a wide range of extras in order to be a zombie horde.

Setting Description.
The main setting for are Zombie Horror film will be a park and then a desolate car park in witch are character seek shelter in although if we can not find a place like this we will change it to find a more appropriate place that we are allowed to film in.

Within this project i have begun to research other short films in order to give myself an idea of the main conventions and what a short film may include.
I looked at how Micro and Macro elements are used in order to create a story that appears believeable.

The main features of a short film are:

Exciting New Techniques & Style

All these things make a short film what it is withing the short film Expo which is a Science Fiction / Drama short film there is the simple yet exciting and original idea of an astro-minor who is reluctant to return to the world she once knew after two years on the moon and the death of her daughter. Although there is not much dialogue within this short film it still roughly keeps to the ratio of 40:60.
All actors withijn the short film i have studied give a fantastic and believeable performance, and because it is a a science fiction film there are obvious high production values and at 13 min it is a short film. The film deffinatly has a strong befining as we are shown a woman in a futuristic environment being tolled that her daughter has passed away. Overall the storyline is not reppetative and there are no big twists to the plot.
Overall in my oppinion there are no new and exciting techniques used within the filming process.
