The importance of Camera, Editing, Sound and Mise en scene in film making.
Camera is very important when making a film through different camera angles the director can manipulate you into sympathising with particular characters, make them look weak or make them look powerful. In addition to this camera can trick the eye into seeing something that it did not for example in most horror film they use a point of view shot that makes it look like the victim is being hunted by the killer.
Editing is also very important when it comes to a film the editing can control the pace of the film and make a boring sequence appear much more interesting. It can also make a film look more realistic and make a viewer feel more involved as if they are experiencing what the characters are experiencing. This is especially noticeable when looking at horror films.
Sound is also another important element because of how it can make a sad scene comical or a horrific sequence entertaining, music is often used to speed up slow sequences within film or to make something like a heavily dialogue based sequence a bit more interesting to watch and to make sure that you keep the audiences attention. Diagetic sound, can make sequences more believable or in sum cases surreal.
Mise en scene, is all about setting and props. If the mise en scene within a film is wrong for example having a flashlight when you are making a classic western then you have continuity errors that will be obvious. In addition to this the mise en scene, can make sets look more believable and help along side sound and editing and camera to make the audience believe what they see.
